Created in 1971, Panthella is one of the most famous creations by Verner Panton. The basic idea was to design a lamp where both the base and the lampshade would serve as reflectors. The light source of the Panthella lamps is elegantly hidden behind a hemispherical lampshade made of milky white acrylic and a white trumpet-shaped base, which contributes to excellent light distribution as well as a well-balanced form. Panthella Lamp

Born in 1926 in Gamtofte, Denmark, Verner Panton began his training at the Odense Technical School before studying architecture at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen. After working at Arne Jacobsen's architecture firm, he founded his own studio in 1955 and quickly distinguished himself with his innovative furniture designs featuring bold geometric shapes. His early creations, in collaboration with "Plus-linje," established his unique style. A pioneer of design, Verner Panton became known for his bold use of vibrant colors and geometric shapes, a principle he applied not only to furniture but also to textiles, as illustrated by his "Textiles of the 20th Century" collection.Created in 1971, Panthella is one of the most famous creations by Verner Panton. Its concept is based on a perfect balance between the hemispherical lampshade and the trumpet-shaped base, each serving as a reflector. The table lamp version of Panthella has a smaller shade than the floor lamp version, making it perfectly suited for use on a table or desk. With its curved shapes and futuristic design, Panthella embodies the minimalist and organic aesthetic of Verner Panton. Its white acrylic lampshade diffuses a soft and even light, ideal for creating a warm atmosphere in a living room or bedroom.

The Panthella lamp is produced by Louis Poulsen, a Danish brand founded in 1874, specializing in lighting design where form follows function. Louis Poulsen became a major player in lighting thanks to its collaboration with designer Poul Henningsen in 1924. Their work led to the creation of iconic lamps, some of which won prestigious awards, such as the gold me...dal at the International Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts in 1925. For over 70 years, Louis Poulsen has collaborated with renowned designers such as Verner Panton, Alfred Homann, and Oki Sato to develop innovative lighting solutions. The Panthella lamp, a bestseller from the brand, won the prestigious IF Design Award in 1971. Its pure and timeless design, emphasized by the use of white, quickly won over the public. Louis Poulsen luminaires combine aesthetic innovation with high-performance lighting.
