Designed by Hvidt & Mølgaard, Tripod is a minimalist standing lamp, made of lacquered metal with brass details. Considered masters of Danish design in the 1950s, their creations often add a sculptural touch to the space where they are positioned. The Tripod lamp is no exception. Named after the style of the base, the light has simple, precise lines in keeping with the aesthetic of its designers. The base has a heavy sphere that acts as a counterweight and maintains the lamp's balance. The first sketches of the Tripod lamp date back to 1953, yet the lamp never found the way into production. So, & Tradition was the first company to release this unique, timeless light.
And Tradition is a Danish brand founded in 2010 by Martin Kornbek Hansen. The brand offers furniture, lighting, and accessories from the 1930s to the present day. And Tradition designs practical pieces for everyday use.
And Tradition adapts this heritage to contemporary design, redefining and reinventing materials and shapes, while respecting nature, which provides the essential raw materials. The company does not hesitate to reissue classics, such as the lighting designs of Verner Panton, including the collection of Flowerpot Table Lamps and Flowerpot Pendants.
