Mika TOLVANEN

Born in Lieksa (Finland) in 1975, Mika Tolvanen opened his studio in Helsinki, in an old coffee shop in the Töölö district. Bureau Mika Tolvanen designs furniture, lighting as well as consumer goods. Mika Tolvanen is a Finnish designer of furniture, lighting and interior design products. Mika Tolvanen explains that his design focuses on function: "My products are meant to be used, but that doesn't mean they can't be beautiful. I don't have any dogmas, but I believe that good design comes from an understanding of materials and a desire to improve the way they work. An object can have a complex range of functions, but it shouldn't be complicated". As a result, his creations focus on two essential aspects of design: aesthetics and function. It's a balance that reveals rigorous work and expertise, an assiduous mastery of materials and a sensitive eye for Nordic aesthetics.

MUUTO

Founded in 2006 by Peter Bonnen and Kristian Byrge, the Danish brand, Muuto is a young design publishing house that asserts its ambition to perpetuate the Golden Age of Scandinavian design by encouraging continuous innovation and creativity. Muuto publishes iconic design furniture such as the must-have Around coffee tables, the Split dining table, chairs, armchairs, and stools like Fiber and Nerd, the Stacked modular shelving, and the Outline sofas, an iconic design by Anderssen & Voll that combines comfort, elegance, and modernity.
