A testament to post-war modernism, the Langelinie Pavilion is an iconic place in Copenhagen, built in the 1950s. Architect couple Eva and Niels Koppel created steel and glass modules that line up with the horizon, allowing views of the waterfront and the promenade. To create a stackable chair for this historic building, designers Anderssen & Voll wanted to combine the classic modernism of this 1950s building with a new form of modernism. The Pavilion chair has a sleek and graceful profile no matter what angle you view it from. The slim armrests and legs have an ethereal feel and match the gentle curves of the backrest and seat. Produced by &Tradition, the Pavilion chair is available in natural oak, black-stained oak and walnut, to suit any interior.
Founded in 2009 by Torbjørn Anderssen and Espen Voll, Anderssen & Voll is a Norwegian design studio based in Oslo. The duo, who were previously partners in the Norway Says group, work in a variety of design fields but concentrate on domestic objects. They have been named Norwegian and Scandinavian Designer of the Year and have received international awards for their work with furniture, lighting and home accessories. In their view, a good product builds on and extends tradition while simultaneously breaking with the rules of that tradition. Their iconic creations include the Outline seating series, the Oslo lounge chair, the Elephant table and the unique Ildhane candlestick. Their many collaborations with famous publishers such as Lapalma, Muuto, Hay and AndTraditon have contributed to their reputation.
