Description

A desk lamp originally designed by George Carwardine in 1932 before it was developed for residential use in 1934, the Original 1227 lamp was reissued in January 2009 by English manufacturer Anglepoise to mark its 75th anniversary. Its design occupies a place amid both traditional and contemporary interiors, and residential and commercial settings. The Original 1227 lamp has a weighted base for improved stability, and is flexible and adjustable thanks to its articulated arms equipped with 3 springs. Now an icon of English design, the Original 1227 desk lamp is featured on Royal Mail stamps.
