The Joyce chair and armchair feature lines that place them in the perfect balance between design and classicism with a clear nod to tradition. The Joyce chair is distinctive for the metal structure that supports the hull and turns into an interesting aesthetic motif enhancing the back of the seat. The enveloping hull is made from cast metal and polyurethane while the base is made of metal and painted with epoxy powder in a series of elegant finishes. The covers on both the Joyce chair and armchair can be easily removed and replaced with any of the leathers and fabrics in the vast Flexform collection.
Flexform's history is focused on family. Flexform, which is now run by the third generation of its founding family, was created in Brianza; a furniture-producing region in northern Italy. The unique "Made in Italy" movement was launched there in the 1960s. The region was home to a number of small craft workshops that worked with wood and metal and upholstered sofas from the beginning of the 20th century. And where the great masters of Italian design studied, at the School of Architecture in nearby Milan. Intuition led Flexform to collaborate with some of the greatest designers of the time.
