Designed in 1947, the C-Chair chair is one of Marcel Gascoin's best-known pieces. Reissued by Gubi, the chair represents not only the strong aesthetics and discipline of Gascoin's creations, but also the social conscience he demonstrated throughout the post-war period in France. The C-Chair was originally created out of necessity to fit into the new sized houses built at the end of the Second World War, where Gascoin made up for the lack of space by creating simple, functional furniture. Intelligently designed with great attention to detail, the C-Chair has an elegant shape while being robust and rooted in a simple, minimal and strong design language. Characterised by voluminous and vigorous legs and an inviting seat in lighter material, the quality of the C-Chair produced by Gubi reveals itself through modern lines, sobriety and high-quality carpentry.
Created by Lisbeth and Olsen Gubi, the brand Gubi is a Danish company that has been re-editing some of the greatest design classics since 1967. Based in the docks of Copenhagen, the Gubi headquarters spans 2000 square meters in a former tobacco factory, now renovated into a vast modern loft-style showroom. One of the iconic pieces of the Gubi brand is the Pacha armchair. This armchair by Pierre Paulin embodies the innovative spirit and timeless elegance of Gubi. The Gubi chairs are renowned for their innovative design and exceptional comfort, seamlessly blending contemporary aesthetics with functionality. These iconic pieces evoke emotions and tell meaningful stories, making them both timeless and enduring.
