Blown SW4 is a poetic pendant light resulting from the collaboration between the designer Samuel Wilkinson and the brand And Tradition. Blown SW4 explores the reflections, distortions, and refractions of light through a patterned glass diffuser. The manufacture of Blown SW4 by And Tradition combines industrial processes with the craftsmanship of master glassmakers. The texture of the glass is created with the help of a computer to precisely control the size of each bubble. The shape is determined by moulding and then blown by hand. It's a pendant that's self-sufficient, but also works very well in clusters above a dining room table for example. The sandblasted version brings a subtle and sophisticated light, while the transparent version transforms the space and inhabits it with the projection of its patterns.
And Tradition is a Danish brand founded in 2010 by Martin Kornbek Hansen. The brand offers furniture, lighting, and accessories from the 1930s to the present day. And Tradition designs practical pieces for everyday use.
And Tradition adapts this heritage to contemporary design, redefining and reinventing materials and shapes, while respecting nature, which provides the essential raw materials. The company does not hesitate to reissue classics, such as the lighting designs of Verner Panton, including the collection of Flowerpot Table Lamps and Flowerpot Pendants.
