Blown SW3 is an imaginative pendant light resulting from the collaboration between designer Samuel Wilkinson and &Tradition. Blown SW3 explores light reflections, distortions and refractions through a patterned-glass diffuser. The manufacture of &Tradition's Blown SW3 light combines industrial processes with the craftsmanship of master glassmakers. The texture of the glass is created with computer-aided design to precisely control the size of each bubble. The shape is determined by moulding and then blown by hand. It is a pendant lamp that works well on its own but can also be assembled in clusters, above a dining room table, for example. The sandblasted version gives a subtle and sophisticated light, while the transparent version transforms the space, filling it with its projected patterns.
And Tradition is a Danish brand founded in 2010 by Martin Kornbek Hansen. The brand offers furniture, lighting, and accessories from the 1930s to the present day. And Tradition designs practical pieces for everyday use.
And Tradition adapts this heritage to contemporary design, redefining and reinventing materials and shapes, while respecting nature, which provides the essential raw materials. The company does not hesitate to reissue classics, such as the lighting designs of Verner Panton, including the collection of Flowerpot Table Lamps and Flowerpot Pendants.
